Welcome

Hello, and welcome to ItourKorea’s first blog post!

Since arriving in Korea, I’ve become a chronic hodophile who loves to travel, have fun, and explore my surroundings. While I never had the chance to visit tourist locations in my home country, I extensively researched them. My fascination with South Korea began with watching Korean movies back home in Nigeria and learning to read Hangul. I was particularly enthralled by movies about the Joseon era, the Shilla dynasty, and more. South Korea’s history appeared as a hidden treasure that I had just discovered. This led me to research the country extensively, much like some of you. Over time, this research transformed into a deep love for the country. So, when the opportunity to visit arose, I had to take it. I’m excited to share my beautiful experiences in South Korea with you in the weeks, months, and years to come through ITourKorea!

My Inspiration for ItourKorea!

South Korea has proven to be a prime destination for tourism, attracting a significant number of foreigners each year. The blend of traditional and modern culture, delectable Korean cuisine, temple practices, friendly locals, and even the popularity of K-pop idols have captivated people’s attention. Unfortunately, detailed content about South Korea is hard to come by for tourists, expatriates living in South Korea, or those planning to visit soon. But here’s the good news: ItourKorea is here to bridge that gap. Before coming to Korea, I scoured the internet for any information about the culture. Few articles provided explicit descriptions of what to expect or what was available, limiting my understanding of the country. However, my enthusiasm led me to visit, and now, years later, I’m ready to share my experiences with you!
